In 1992, Children’s Center was purchased by Horizons of Okaloosa County. Our goal in the community is to provide childcare to all children and to mainstream children with special needs. We became nationally accredited in 2001 and continue to operate a nationally accredited child care center. We are known throughout the community and receive and accept many referrals from partnering agencies to include Early Learning Coalition certificates.
Every day at our school, you can count on childcare going far beyond simple daycare.
Let our early childhood education programs help your child develop learning skills at a pace that supports his or her individual potential… from curious infant to exploring preschooler to confident kindergartener.
Our Afterschool and Summer Programs offered for ages 5 through 12 years provide a safe, fun and active environment.
The Children’s Center will enrich your child’s emotional, social, intellectual and physical development while providing the foundation for a lifelong love of learning through our developmental based curriculum.

Choosing child care is one of the most important decisions you will make in your child’s life. The care they receive in these formative years sets the stage for the duration of the education process. We provide a safe and fun environment for your child to learn, grow, and explore. We provide parent/teacher conferences twice a year to keep parents informed of their child’s progress.
We are so much more than childcare. Our tenured teachers guide your child’s early experiences toward a lifelong love of learning.
Our center is designed to create a warm and secure environment for children of all ages. From the peaceful sleeping alcove in the infant room, to the cozy reading lofts in our 2, 3, and 4 year old rooms, large multi activity center room for ages 5 to 12 years, and the large shaded playgrounds for each age group — your child is in a very special place at The Children’s Center.
Our teachers spend lots of time cuddling and talking to your child to instill trust and provide a healthy early learning environment for movement, exploration and communication.
